The creator of @ElonJet claimed it had been recently restricted by Twitter and now the account is actually banned.

“Well, looks like @ElonJet is on hold,” wrote account owner, American student Jack Sweeney. The account tracked Musk's whereabouts using publicly available flight data and amassed over half a million followers. Now Sweeney has encouraged users to follow him on other platforms.

Elon Musk has previously claimed that he is such a strong supporter of free speech that he would not ban this account, which he called "a direct risk to personal safety."

However, it is speculated that Twitter employees may have received other internal instructions. On December 10, Sweeney posted a series of tweets in which he claimed that his account had received a shadowban, which means a deliberate reach restriction.

According to him, one of the platform's employees sent him a screenshot of a message from Twitter's vice president of trust and security, asking him to set strict visibility filtering on @ElonJet. The Council of Trust and Security was dissolved on Monday.
