Red iPhone Ultra renders turn out to be fake

Renders showing Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone Ultra in bright red are fake, MacRumors reports.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman disputed the authenticity of images shared by leaker Evan Blass, which appeared to show the unannounced device in white, dark gray and bright red. According to Gurman, the renders were actually created by Xiaomi.

Gurman says Apple’s real foldable iPhone will not come in red or green. The company is expected to stick to a more traditional color palette rather than offer brighter finishes.

The device is expected to come in silver-white and dark gray or black, although some reports suggest Apple could opt for an indigo finish instead of black.

We should get a definitive answer at Apple’s annual fall event on Wednesday, September 9, in Cupertino. The Surprise and shine event begins at 10 a.m. PT.

Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone at the event alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
