New roads appeared in the UAE over the past year: statistics

The UAE road network has grown by more than 2,657 km over the past year. According to an estimate of the geo-service Urbi made at the beginning of August, the total length of the road network in the UAE was 32.4 thousand km.

UAE roads’ quality is considered to be among the best in the world. The country’s government is planning to invest another 5 billion dirham in federal road development in the next 10 years. According to Urbi, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road, or E11 highway, is the largest road in the UAE at the moment, with total length in both directions exceeding 648 km.

Um Al Zumoul Road (404 km in both directions) takes the second place,  Zirarah Road (382 km) occupies the third.
