Meta has introduced the Ray-Ban Display — smart glasses equipped with a built-in screen, a feature missing from the company’s earlier models.

The display can be used to read and reply to messages, translate words, access the Meta AI assistant, and more. It’s placed discreetly in the right lens to avoid blocking the wearer’s view. The screen switches on only when needed, Meta says it doesn’t want to “strap a phone to your face.”

The Ray-Ban Display comes bundled with the Meta Neural Band, an electromyography wristband that detects bioelectric signals from muscle movements and interprets them as commands. This allows users to scroll or click without lifting a finger, and eventually even type out messages.

With the glasses, users can make calls, preview photos before snapping them (using the glasses as a viewfinder), get navigation directions, and use real-time translation. Like previous models, they also support music playback.

Battery life is rated at up to six hours of mixed use, with the charging case extending that to 30 hours. The Neural Band itself lasts up to 18 hours on a single charge.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display is priced at $799, with the Neural Band included in the box. At launch, they’ll be available only in select U.S. retail stores, before expanding to Canada, France, Italy, and the U.K.
