LinkedIn to add AI feature that generates cover letter messages

The platform is testing a feature that generates brief, cover letter-like messages that candidates can send to potential hiring managers on LinkedIn.

The new feature draws on information from the user's profile, the hiring manager's profile, the job description, and the company's details to produce a customized message that can be edited before it is sent.

The AI-generated message is available to premium subscribers of LinkedIn.

The platform has previously experimented with generative AI features, including AI writing suggestions to profiles and "collaborative articles" that use AI-generated text.
