Apple is expected to unveil iPadOS 19 at WWDC 2025, and according to insider Majin Bu, the update will push the iPad experience further into Mac territory.
The new version is said to introduce a redesigned interface featuring a menu bar and a revamped multitasking system dubbed Stage Manager 2.0 — both clearly inspired by macOS.
The biggest change: a persistent top menu bar that appears when using the Magic Keyboard, making the iPad feel more like a traditional desktop. Stage Manager 2.0 is the second major feature — it will launch automatically with the keyboard and offer more flexible window management for apps.
According to sources, Apple’s goal is to position the iPad as a fully capable work device, blurring the line between tablet and laptop through a Mac-style interface and advanced multitasking.
Meanwhile, iOS 19 is also getting notable updates. iPhones with USB-C will be able to connect to external displays and show a desktop-style interface similar to Stage Manager — though with limitations on resolution and window count.
