Telegram has released version 12.10, bringing a new batch of features to the messenger.
Groups and channels can now set up Welcome Messages to give new members more information about the chat. These messages are visible only to users who have just joined.
Welcome Messages support rich formatting and can include multiple messages, as well as photos and videos. To set one up in a group or channel, open the chat profile and go to Edit > Welcome Message.
Developers can now add buttons directly inside messages. Telegram says that, when combined with disappearing messages, the feature can power everything from polls, games and horoscopes to product browsing and shopping.
Messages with buttons can be sent to any chat, including groups and channels, and can also be shown to new members when they join.
“How to Add Automated Flows Inside Messages? No voodoo magic required here either — but you will need to do some coding. Not that this scares anyone in these vibe-coding days, right?” Telegram wrote.
Telegram’s rich text editor now lets users embed documents, music and other files directly into the text of a message. The editor can be opened by tapping the ⛶ icon, which appears after typing three or more lines in the message field.

“Because nothing says ‘I love you’ like an Excel spreadsheet after every word,” Telegram joked.
Telegram has redesigned the placeholders that tell users to update the app when a new feature isn’t supported by their current version. The new design has also been given a visual refresh:

Gifts purchased through Telegram’s official marketplace can now include a personal signature and message:
