Apple has rejected the application to bring Fortnite back to iOS — the game is now unavailable worldwide, even in the Epic Games Store within the EU.

The official Fortnite account on X (formerly Twitter) stated:

Apple has blocked our Fortnite submission so we cannot release to the US App Store or to the Epic Games Store for iOS in the European Union. Now, sadly, Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.

Previously, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney revealed that Apple “neither accepted nor rejected” the initial submission to reinstate Fortnite on the App Store, which the developer submitted on May 9. After five days of silence from Apple, Epic Games withdrew the initial application and submitted a new one, including the planned Fortnite update.

According to Apple’s policy, 90% of similar applications are reviewed within 24 hours, making the situation with Fortnite even more ambiguous. Fans of the game remain in “waiting mode” — Epic Games has not yet disclosed what their next step will be.

Recall that on May 1, 2025, Apple lost a court case against Epic Games, which ruled that the company can no longer charge commissions on purchases made outside the App Store. Following the victory, Epic Games announced their intention to return the removed Fortnite to the App Store.
