Apple AirTag in tracking your pet

AirTag was never advertised by Apple as tracker for pets but people tend to experiment and underestimate consequences of misuse.

The Wall Street Journal published several stories of pet owners who once attached AirTags to their dogs in order to locate them. Looking ahead, all published stories ended up well. The dogs have accidentally eaten attached AirTags, in some cases surgery was required to get the tracker out.

Vets warn pet owners that foreign objects eaten by pets are life-threatening. Moreover, some people go even further, for example, law enforcement agencies have reported about stalking cases when tracker is used for stalking people.

At the same time there are many cases when AirTags helped people to find and track their lost belongings, for instance, locate lost luggage. Apple`s AirTag is splash, water, dust resistant and equipped with long lasting batteries.
