FUNKE apologizes to the Schumacher family for the reporting in the latest issue of "die aktuelle" about Michael Schumacher. Bianca Pohlmann, Managing Director of FUNKE Magazines stated:
"This tasteless and misleading article should never have been published. It in no way meets the standards of journalism that we – and our readers – expect from a publisher like FUNKE."
As a result of the publication of this article, personnel consequences have been drawn immediately. Editor-in-Chief Anne Hoffmann, who had been responsible for the paper as a journalist since 2009, was relieved of her duties.
