Meta AI, the tech giant's virtual assistant, is set for a major international expansion.

Starting today, the service will launch in Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the UK, with plans to roll out in 15 more countries over the coming weeks. These countries include Indonesia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam, though Meta has not provided specific dates for their launches.

As part of the expansion, Meta AI is introducing new language support, starting with Tagalog today. Additional languages like Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese will be added soon. Users in these regions can access Meta AI across Meta’s platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

The European Union is notably absent from this expansion due to regulatory concerns. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has publicly expressed his critiques of how the EU is handling artificial intelligence regulations, resulting in Meta holding off on launching its AI services in the bloc.
