OpenAI has announced the opening of new offices in Singapore, Paris, Brussels, New York City, and Seattle as part of its global expansion, adding to its existing locations in San Francisco, London, Dublin, and Tokyo.

The move follows OpenAI’s $6.4 billion funding round and leadership changes. Oliver Jay, managing director, will oversee international operations from Singapore, which will serve as a hub for the Asia Pacific region.

OpenAI is partnering with AI Singapore to expand access to AI technology in Southeast Asia, as Singapore has seen a surge in ChatGPT usage.

Singaporeans are some of the highest per capita users of ChatGPT worldwide, with the number of weekly active users in Singapore doubling since the beginning of the year,

OpenAI said in a statement.
