Google is testing blue verified checkmarks in its search results to help users identify legitimate businesses and avoid fraudulent sites.

The feature, currently visible to a limited number of users, shows checkmarks next to links for major corporations like Microsoft, Meta, Apple, and Amazon.

Google confirmed the experiment, stating that the checkmarks aim to help shoppers find trustworthy businesses. When users hover over the checkmark, a message explains that Google's signals suggest the business is authentic, though the company cannot guarantee reliability.

The feature may be based on Google's existing Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI), first implemented in Gmail.
