Mark Zuckerberg becomes world's second-richest person, overtaking Jeff Bezos

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has surpassed Jeff Bezos to become the world’s second-richest individual, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Zuckerberg's net worth climbed to $206.2 billion on Thursday, surpassing Bezos' $205.1 billion, though he still lags behind Tesla CEO Elon Musk by about $50 billion.

Zuckerberg’s wealth surge is linked to Meta’s strong stock performance, with shares jumping 68% since January, driven by investor confidence in the company’s profits and AI-driven advertising gains. Despite setbacks, including job cuts and continued spending on the metaverse, Meta's core ad business remains robust.
