Discord is rolling out end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for voice and video calls, providing an added layer of security for users.

The encryption will be implemented to calls from DMs, group DMs, voice channels and Go Live streams. Desktop and mobile clients already support the feature, with other clients set to receive it next year. Discord has emphasized transparency in its E2EE protocols, ensuring no compromise in call quality.

While voice and video calls will be encrypted, messages will remain unencrypted for moderation purposes.

This update aligns Discord with other platforms like Signal, WhatsApp, and Zoom, which have also adopted encryption protocols.
