Tesla’s redesigned Roadster is available to reserve in the UAE, with deposits starting at Dh210,000.

Elon Musk unveiled the electric sports car on October 15 at SpaceX’s testing facility in Texas. The demonstration included a Roadster driving upside down on a ramp and performing an airborne rotation using compressed-air thrusters. Tesla’s UAE website lists two versions for public reservation, Performance and Thrust, alongside an invitation-only Rocket version designed for flight.

The Performance is a two-seat model that Tesla describes as “road ready.” It features active aerodynamics and a suction system that draws air from beneath the vehicle to improve grip and handling. Buyers must pay Dh20,000 upfront, followed by another Dh190,000 within ten days, bringing the total reservation amount to Dh210,000.

The Thrust is a limited-release, two-seat version described as “race ready.” It includes the Performance model’s features and adds rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters, which Tesla says can propel the car from 0 to 100km/h in under one second. Reserving it requires Dh20,000 upfront and another Dh1 million within ten days, for a total deposit of Dh1.02 million. Reservations are limited to one per customer.

Tesla’s booking page marks the initial Dh20,000 payment as fully refundable. Reservations are subject to cancellation if the remaining payment is not completed within ten days. These amounts are reservation deposits, with the vehicle’s final purchase price still to be determined.

The single-seat Rocket uses thrusters positioned around the vehicle to provide upward and forward acceleration and control its movement in the air. Tesla describes it as capable of flight, but it is available only by invitation and is not approved for public-road use. No UAE reservation amount is listed for that version.

Tesla first announced its next-generation Roadster in 2017, originally targeting a 2020 release. Musk now expects production to begin in 2028, although buyers reserving one in the UAE have no guaranteed delivery date.
