OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is reportedly in discussions to raise a significant new funding round, which would value the company at over $100 billion.
This would mark a substantial increase from its previous $86 billion valuation, making it the highest-valued AI startup to date. Thrive Capital is expected to lead the round, contributing around $1 billion, with Microsoft also likely to participate.
The funding comes at a time when OpenAI is facing rising costs. According to reports, the company could lose about $5 billion by the end of the year, despite having annual revenues of $3.4 billion.
