Some recent reports suggest that Apple might eventually charge up to $20 a month for its Apple Intelligence features, but experts believe that won’t happen for at least three more years.

In a recent newsletter, tech journalist Mark Gurman discussed these reports, agreeing that Apple might eventually start charging for AI-driven features, but not as soon as some might think. Apple introduced its initial Apple Intelligence features at WWDC, including an upgraded Siri, Genmoji, and other enhancements.

Since Apple is still catching up to competitors in the AI space, it doesn’t make sense for them to charge for these basic features right now. Gurman expects Apple to develop more advanced AI features in the future that might be worth paying for, but he thinks that could take at least three years.
