The Ryzen AI 300 series targets enhanced AI performance in notebooks with an upgraded neural processing unit (NPU) delivering 50 TOPS, tripling previous laptop capabilities. The Ryzen 9000 desktop processors are 16 percent faster than their predecessors, focusing on gaming performance.

The Ryzen AI 300 includes the 12-core Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and 10-core AI 9 365, both reaching at least 5GHz and featuring built-in RDNA 3.5 graphics. Powered by the new Zen 5 architecture, these chips promise better responsiveness and data handling.

For desktops, the Ryzen 9 9950X leads the Ryzen 9000 series with a 5.7GHz boost speed, accompanied by the Ryzen 9 9900X and Ryzen 7 9700X. These chips emphasize raw computational power over AI-specific tasks, relying on GPUs for AI processing.

AMD also introduced the X870E and X870 AM5 chipsets, supporting PCIe 5, USB4, WiFi 7, and DDR5. New AM4 hardware includes the Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT.

Pricing details are pending, but Ryzen AI 300 systems and Ryzen 9000 chips are expected in July, with upcoming laptops like the ASUS ZenBook S 16 and MSI Stealth A16 AI+.
