According to insights from Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, the new AirPods models will introduce a two tier lineup for non-Pro buds.
Both models will feature a refreshed design and charge via USB-C, while the higher-end variant will boast active noise cancellation and Find My integration for the case, akin to AirPods Pro.
Gurman suggests that Apple plans to manufacture 20-25 million units of the new models, marking the largest AirPods launch to date. Consumers can expect the new AirPods to coincide with the debut of the iPhone 16 in the fall.
While a new hardware iteration of the AirPods Pro isn't anticipated until 2025, Apple is exploring software enhancements, including a hearing aid mode. Additionally, AirPods Max will receive a minor update later this year, featuring a USB-C charging port without any significant new features.
