OnePlus has given a sneak peek of its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 12, ahead of its official launch in China on December 5th.

The smartphone will be available in three colors: white, black, and green. Notably, the design closely resembles its predecessor, the OnePlus 11, but with a significant change — the Alert Slider, a popular feature for toggling sound profiles, has been relocated from the right side to the left.

OnePlus explains that this move was made to accommodate a new integrated antenna, strategically placed to enhance signal performance and reduce latency during game streaming.

The shift of the Alert Slider is motivated by OnePlus's internal testing, determining that the optimal position for gaming antennas is between the forefingers when the phone is held in landscape orientation. This alteration aims to improve the OnePlus 12's gaming experience.

Additional specifications revealed for the OnePlus 12 include a new Sony LYT-808 sensor for the 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel, 3X periscopic telephoto camera, both supported by Hasselblad Camera for Mobile. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, feature a "2K display" panel from China's BOE, and support wireless charging, rain touch, and infrared remote control functions.

While more details will emerge at the official launch, the global release date for the OnePlus 12 is set to be announced on December 15th.
