OpenAI launches OpenAI Data Partnerships, a program aimed at partnering with organizations to obtain large datasets, both public and private, that are not freely accessible on the Internet.

Beyond textual data, OpenAI is interested in images, audio, and video that "express human intention," aligning with its goal to improve AI models like automatic speech recognition and conversational AI.

Several partnerships have already been launched, including with the Icelandic government, to improve understanding of AI models in different languages and contexts. Interested organizations can submit datasets through either an open-source archive, Open-Source archive, or a private dataset pathway.

While OpenAI emphasizes data privacy and security, given its vast user base of around 100 million weekly active users worldwide, scrutiny of data handling practices, especially for private datasets, will be a crucial aspect of this initiative's success.
