Google's popular Chrome browser is getting a fresh and more user-friendly look on desktops, thanks to an update inspired by its Material You design language.

This revamp brings improved icon legibility and vibrant color palettes designed to seamlessly integrate with your tabs and toolbar. The changes are set to roll out in the coming weeks, promising a sleeker and more rounded interface.

Google is keen on enhancing not only Chrome itself but also the Chrome Web Store's interface. With the addition of Material You design elements, you can expect a visually appealing and modern experience. These updates are already accessible in public preview.

Google is also enhancing Chrome's security features with an update to its Safe Browsing tools. Currently, Chrome checks potentially dangerous websites against a locally stored list updated every 30 to 60 minutes.

But Chrome will soon conduct real-time checks against Google's list of harmful websites, reducing the time between threat identification and prevention. This adjustment is expected to boost protection against malware and phishing threats by 25%.
