The seventh SpaceX operational mission in the Commercial Crew Program launched on 26 August 2023.
The international crew aboard the Crew Dragon capsule includes astronauts from four different countries: Jasmin Moghbeli representing NASA, Andreas Mogensen from the European Space Agency, Satoshi Furakawa of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and Russian cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov.
The successful docking increased the ISS's crew count to 11 members, with the recently arrived astronauts joining those already present on the station.
The astronauts will carry out over 200 scientific experiments and technology demonstrations. These efforts will contribute to humanity's understanding of space exploration and help pave the way for future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
Crew 7's mission is named "Endurance", symbolizing the determination and resilience of those involved in space exploration.
