Opera's AI-infused browser, Opera One, has launched its early access phase and is now available for download on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Opera One features an integrated AI called Aria that connects to GPT to provide users with answers to their queries. Aria leverages live information from the web and can generate text, code, and support responses related to Opera products.
Users can access Aria through the browser's sidebar or by using a keyboard shortcut. Additionally, Opera One introduces a modular design principle, adapting to users' needs by surfacing relevant features based on context. This approach aims to enhance the browsing experience by providing a more fluid and effortless interface.
To tackle tab clutter, Opera One introduces a feature called "tab islands," which groups related tabs together based on context. For example, it can group tabs related to a travel or work project, making it easier for users to navigate and manage their browsing sessions.
Opera One incorporates a new architecture with a multithreaded compositor, resulting in a faster and smoother user interface. This approach also enables Opera to differentiate itself from other Chromium-based browsers.
Opera plans to continue expanding its AI capabilities and has more AI-focused updates to be released later this year.
