Google has introduced a new feature for its Gemini chatbot, enabling it to remember personal user information such as profession or food preferences.

This functionality allows for more personalized responses without requiring users to repeatedly input the same details. For instance, users can instruct Gemini to save their profession by saying, “Remember that I’m a marketing manager at Young & Co.”

Gemini highlights responses where saved information is used and offers users the ability to view, edit, or delete this data via the "Saved Information" page. The feature is currently available in English for Google One AI Premium subscribers. While the first month is free, the subscription costs €21.99 per month thereafter.

In February 2024, OpenAI began testing a similar "memory" feature for ChatGPT, allowing users to ask the chatbot to remember or delete specific details about themselves.
