Apple has added new concert discovery features to both Apple Maps and Apple Music, helping users to find live music events in their area.

In Maps, users can access "Guides" that highlight hot concert venues in 14 major cities around the world, such as techno clubs in Brooklyn and symphony halls in Vienna. The feature is designed to help users decide where to go when they're new in town, or when they're looking to experience an unfamiliar music scene. Users can also browse upcoming shows at those venues through a Shazam discovery module that taps info from Bandsintown.

Apple Music, on the other hand, includes the Shazam module to let users browse a musician's upcoming shows, helping them to purchase tickets for live events. There is also a Set Lists section, which allows users to listen to tracks played at certain tours while learning about the productions. The concert discovery features are available immediately.

The addition of concert discovery features in Apple Maps and Music is a push to raise interest in both services by using concerts as a hook.
