Apple figured out and fired an employee who leaked details about the company's future devices and apps.

This was reported by her brother, who posted information on Twitter under the nickname analyst941. The story became known from a farewell message on the forum MacRumors.

Analyst941's sister worked at Apple in a team that developed Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for the iPad. Apple once shared an iPad app release date with employees, but gave everyone 'a unique combination of release dates'.

After analyst941 posted the information on Twitter, Apple security had no trouble finding the person who knew the dates. A multi-level audit followed, which resulted in the sister's dismissal.

"A multi-step sting has gotten my sister fired from Apple, and unfortunately I am afraid next is legal action being taken against both of us, separately."

The Twitter account has been deleted, and his MacRumors profile will be disabled in the next 24 hours.

"Learn from me and don’t let it happen to you or anyone you love."
