This will offset Apple's 30% commission.

Twitter plans to charge the subscription price for buyers on the iPhone to $11 per month, according to The Information. On the web, Twitter Blue will be priced at $7.

According to the media, the main purpose of the price increase is to offset Apple's 30 percent commission. This will allow the social network to avoid losing profits. Also, the lower price may encourage users to pay for Twitter Blue through the web.

Other companies like Spotify have in the past charged higher prices on the ‌iPhone‌ than on the web. This often leads to confusion for consumers who do not understand why the prices are different.

Earlier Elon Musk criticized Apple's App Store fees and claimed that Apple had "threated to withhold Twitter from its ‌App Store‌". Later he had a meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook and changed his statement. He said that they had a good conversation and that there had been a "misunderstanding".

The Twitter Blue subscription has been unavailable since November 11th. The journalists emphasized that Musk, known for making hasty decisions, may change his position. The subscription restart is scheduled for Friday.
