Microsoft has released a list of Intel processors that will be supported in Windows 11 24H2, and 8th, 9th, and 10th-gen chips are missing—but this applies only to OEM manufacturers, not end users, Wccftech reports.
Owners of PCs and laptops with these processors can still use Windows 11 and receive the latest updates. However, new devices with licensed Windows will no longer ship with these older Intel chips.
Interestingly, AMD processors of the same era remain on the list, while the removed Intel chips still meet all system requirements. For reference, Intel’s 10th-gen CPUs were released between 2019 and 2020.
Meanwhile, Microsoft continues to support Intel’s 11th-gen processors, despite them using the same socket, generating more heat, and offering minimal performance improvements over previous generations.
