WhatsApp is set to introduce limits on the number of broadcast messages users and businesses can send, aiming to curb spam and encourage more meaningful mass messaging.

In the coming weeks, the company will begin testing a new system that imposes a monthly cap on broadcasts. For regular users, this means mass messaging will become more restricted. While WhatsApp hasn't disclosed exact limits yet, sources suggest users may be limited to 30 broadcasts per month. Once the limit is reached, they'll have to wait until the next cycle to send more.

Business accounts will also face restrictions, but with paid options available. Companies that rely on WhatsApp for marketing will have the ability to purchase additional broadcasts or leverage new tools introduced through WhatsApp Business API.

WhatsApp has been working to reduce spam for years, especially in regions where mass messaging is heavily used for commercial and news distribution. The new limits are designed to protect users from intrusive ads and misinformation while preserving important updates from verified sources.

WhatsApp will start testing the new system in the coming weeks. While the impact on users remains unclear, if the system proves effective, these restrictions could become a permanent feature.
