WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature allowing users to save message drafts automatically. Now, if a user starts typing a message but doesn't send it, the app will save it as a draft and mark it with a green "Draft" label.

These drafts will appear at the top of the chat list, serving as a reminder of unsent messages. This update is available globally in the latest version of WhatsApp, simplifying communication and reducing the risk of losing text when conversations are interrupted.

In addition to drafts, WhatsApp has introduced several new features. Users can now access an integrated address book and customizable lists to better organize chats. They can also decide whether to save contacts solely within WhatsApp or sync them with their phone's contact app.

To improve data management and security, WhatsApp has implemented a new system called Identity Proof Linked Storage (IPLS). This encrypted storage solution allows users to securely manage contacts, ensuring data synchronization across devices and reducing the risk of losing contact lists if a phone is lost. IPLS enhances privacy and security, aligning with WhatsApp's commitment to safeguarding user information.

In July, WhatsApp reported reaching 100 million monthly active users, further solidifying its position as one of the world’s most widely used messaging platforms. These new features aim to make the app even more user-friendly and secure.
