Tinder has launched a new in-app game that lets users flirt with AI chatbots, according to Bloomberg.
The game uses OpenAI’s GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini models to create romantic, story-driven scenarios. Think: a stranger reaching for the same shopping basket as you or accidentally picking up your luggage at the airport.
Players respond using their voice, earning points for authenticity and engagement. The goal? Convince the AI character to say yes to a date.
The game is currently available to iOS users in the U.S., with a limit of five sessions per day. Each “date” lasts about three minutes.
Tinder VP Hillary Payne said the feature is designed to give users a judgment-free space to experiment and build confidence before diving into real-life conversations.
The game is primarily aimed at Gen Z, which makes up about half of Tinder’s user base. Whether it sticks around will depend on user feedback, Payne added.
