The electric Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX covers more than 1,000 km on a single charge

Mercedes-Benz has announced that its Vision EQXX electric concept car has successfully passed a range test of more than 1,000 km without recharging the battery. This is one of the longest distances covered by an electric car on a single charge.

The route of the electric car began in Germany, passed through the Alps and ended at the southern coast of France. It took 11 hours and 32 minutes to cover this distance, and when it arrived at its destination, there was enough charge left to cover another 140 km. The results were recorded by an independent expert from TÜV Süd.

Speaking at the ceremony marking the successful test of the prototype, Technical Director Markus Schäfer said that the efficient design was the key to maximizing the range of the electric vehicle. Its average speed was 87 km/h and its maximum speed was 140 km/h. On average, the car consumed 8.7 kWh of energy per 100 kilometers. This is about twice as efficient as Mercedes models on the market and the longest-range car, the Tesla Model S 60.
