The owner of a Tesla electric car, Brandon Dalaly, implanted a tiny chip in his right hand to unlock his car.

Dalaly showed how a professional piercer stitched a VivoKey Apex chip coated with a biocompatible substance.

The cost of the procedure was $400. Afterwards, Dalaly can use the back of his hand to unlock his Tesla.

The chip to unlock the Tesla is not his first implant. Dalaly told media website Teslarati that he has a smaller chip implanted in his left hand that stores contact and medical information as well as a key to his home.

Dalaly is among the testers of the VivoKey Apex chip, which allows users to run small programs called Java Card applets. Dalaly said:

The company that put this together literally has its own app store where you can wirelessly install apps into your body with these chips.
