Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that the company is "making progress with Steam integration" and that we can expect a demo "probably next month". Owners of the Tesla Model S and Model X electric cars will have access to cutting-edge gaming.

Tesla announced last summer that the flagship cars would feature Navi 23 discrete graphics processors with AMD RDNA 2 architecture, allowing the on-board computers to rival the current generation of Microsoft and Sony gaming consoles in some features.

In February, Musk tweeted that the company was "working through the general case of making Steam games work on a Tesla vs specific titles.” This means Musk likely wants to make high-end games available through Steam integration. It's not yet known exactly what form Steam will take in cars, as Tesla has its own Tesla Arcade platform.

Last year, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) criticised Tesla for allowing drivers to play games while driving, after which the company did ban it.
