Samsung has decided to end production of its ultra-thin Edge smartphone series, according to the South Korean outlet Newspim. Employees have reportedly already been informed of the decision.

The discontinuation affects both the Galaxy S25 Edge and the yet-to-be-released S26 Edge. While Samsung may still launch the latter as a standalone model, the company is said to be in disarray amid a broader restructuring of its smartphone lineup.

"Once the remaining Galaxy S25 Edge inventory sells out, no further units will be manufactured. Insiders say the chance of reviving the slim series later is minimal," Newspim reports.

An anonymous Samsung representative told the outlet: "It’s unclear whether the slim line will ever return, but it doesn’t look likely at this point. You can practically consider it discontinued."

The decision may have been influenced by weak sales of the S25 Edge. Of the 500,000 units initially planned for launch, only around 190,000 were sold in the first eight days, despite overall sales of the Galaxy S25 lineup outperforming the previous generation.
