Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced a new project called Cocoon during the Blockchain Life 2025 conference in Dubai.

The name stands for Confidential Compute Open Network — a decentralized and privacy-focused computing network designed to process artificial intelligence workloads securely.

Cocoon will let developers run AI models without needing their own expensive servers or relying on centralized providers, offering affordable access to distributed computing power.

  • Owners of high-performance GPUs will be able to connect their hardware to the network, while AI developers can rent that power for computation.
  • Data requests will be distributed across available GPUs, allowing hardware owners to earn rewards for their contributions.
  • Developers will be able to compensate GPU owners in TON tokens for processing AI workloads.

All data processed through Cocoon will be fully encrypted, meaning no one, not even network participants, can see what queries are being handled, ensuring complete confidentiality.

Telegram will be the first major client of Cocoon, using it for private AI-related tasks and investing in its integration across the platform’s ecosystem.

The official launch of Cocoon is scheduled for November 2025.
