Parts of the Grand Theft Auto 5 source code has been leaked on GitHub. It contains scripting features and pivot elements. In addition, the leak contains cut content from GTA Online, developer notes and parts of anti-cheats.

Previously, a hacker obtained the source code for Grand Theft Auto 6 and gameplay videos from it. He may have managed to get hold of the GTA 5 code at the same time.

After the GTA 6 code leak, the developer's parent company Rockstar Take-Two Interactive later confirmed that the leak was real, and the hacker was arrested and charged with computer misuse. It was reported that the hacker managed to sell the GTA 5 source code before his arrest, and then the buyer tried to sell the source code himself.

However, Take-Two announced that GTA 6 will not be delayed because of the hack, so this game really seems to be unaffected.

It is important to emphasize that a part of the source code has been uploaded to GitHub, which doesn't concern the whole game, so there is little chance that GTA 5's security will be compromised. Besides, Rockstar has already taken care of that, so there's no need for illegal activity.

Parts of Grand Theft Auto 5's stolen source code have been swiftly removed via copyright strike by Rockstar.
