OpenAI Set to Launch o3-mini Model Soon

OpenAI has finalized the development of its new, powerful language model, o3-mini, which boasts advanced reasoning capabilities, according to CEO Sam Altman on platform X.

The model is set to launch in the coming weeks, with simultaneous availability via API and ChatGPT, allowing users to immediately explore its features.

The o3-mini model, along with its full-sized counterpart o3, was announced last December. According to OpenAI, these AI solutions are the most advanced the company has ever created, significantly outperforming the o1 model released in September last year.

The release of o3-mini marks the first step in OpenAI’s strategy to introduce a new generation of language models, emphasizing enhanced reliability, performance, and logical reasoning capabilities.

The full-scale o3 model is expected to launch later, with OpenAI anticipating that it will attract additional investments and expand its user base.
