Nvidia has officially ended support for its long-standing control panel after 20 years of service, The Verge reports.
The utility's interface had remained largely unchanged since the days of Windows XP. Despite the dated design, the program had stayed essential for adjusting basic settings on Nvidia graphics cards.
For many years, users had to rely on two separate applications to handle different tasks. Nvidia is now eliminating that confusion by consolidating all functionality into its modern Nvidia App client.
Developers have already migrated every setting for GeForce graphics cards into the new program. The Nvidia App now serves as a single hub for updating drivers, adjusting graphics settings, and managing DLSS.
The exception for now is owners of professional accelerators in the RTX PRO lineup. Those users will need to continue relying on the legacy control panel until all of the specialized professional tools have been fully migrated.
The classic program will remain on existing PCs unless users perform a clean driver installation. Nvidia is also keeping it available in the Microsoft Store, but the utility will no longer receive any new updates.
Alongside the announcement, Nvidia released a new Game Ready driver, version 610.47. The update includes optimizations for the upcoming releases of 007 First Light and Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
