Microsoft unveils AI that finds and fixes software vulnerabilities

Microsoft has introduced an AI system that can automatically identify and fix software vulnerabilities in minutes, according to TechCrunch.

The model is designed to detect complex security flaws in large codebases and works alongside MDASH, Microsoft's system for automatically discovering software bugs and generating fixes.

The company also unveiled Perception, a new platform that orchestrates teams of AI agents to automate security workflows. According to Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, the model achieved higher scores in the Cyber Gymbenchmark when integrated with MDASH than Gemini, GPT-5.5 Cyber, GPT-5.6 Sol, and Mythos 5.

Microsoft says the platform is designed to keep pace with attackers, who are increasingly using AI in cyberattacks. Executive Vice President of Security Charlie Bell said Perception enables organizations to respond with similar speed and scale by using AI-driven defensive workflows. The system coordinates three types of AI agents: red teams to simulate attacks, blue teams to identify vulnerabilities, and green teams to generate fixes. Perception also integrates directly with MDASH.

A preview of MAI-Cyber-1-Flash and Perception will be available on November 3. The products will compete with AI cybersecurity systems introduced by Anthropic and OpenAI earlier this year.
