Reuters reports that Abu Dhabi–backed G42 plans to diversify its chip suppliers for the joint UAE–U.S. AI campus, Stargate UAE.

The company is in talks with AMD, Cerebras, and Qualcomm to reduce reliance on Nvidia for compute power.

At the same time, discussions are underway with U.S. tech giants Amazon AWS, Microsoft, Meta, and Elon Musk’s xAI as potential data center tenants. Google is said to be closest to finalizing a deal.

The project was first announced in May during President Donald Trump’s visit to the Emirates, when he unveiled agreements with Gulf state partners worth more than $200 billion.

Stargate UAE is set to become the largest AI campus outside the United States, spanning 10 square miles with 5 gigawatts of capacity. Partners include OpenAI, Oracle, Cisco, SoftBank, and Nvidia.

According to Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the project reflects the UAE’s commitment to innovation and global collaboration in artificial intelligence.
