Ahead of World Emoji Day, Emojipedia has unveiled a draft list and sample images for Emoji 15.0, which will soon appear on major emoji vendors.
This year, the Unicode consortium has prepared only 31 draft emojis that are likely to appear in 2022 and 2023, far fewer than the 112 last year and 334 in 2020.
Light blue heart, grey heart, pink heart, hair pick, Khanda and Wi-Fi were also included in the list of future emojis along with shaking face. Animal lovers and florists will be delighted to see a moose face, a donkey, a black bird, a goose and a wing and even a jellyfish as well as hyacinth, ginger and pea pods. And musicians will be able to send out maracas and flute emojis.
The actual designs will differ from those released by the major emoji vendors. Also new emoji need to go through a selection process, but most drafts are generally accepted.
The new emoji will be finally approved in September 2022.
