Apple has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a class-action lawsuit alleging that its voice assistant Siri violated privacy by activating without user consent and recording private conversations.

The settlement, announced in January 2025, is now open for claims. U.S. residents who used Siri-enabled devices between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, are eligible. This includes iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, HomePod, iPod touch, and Apple TV users.

The compensation is up to $20 per device (capped at five devices) if users can confirm that Siri activated during a private conversation.

Claims can be submitted until July 2, 2025, via the official settlement website. Notifications with instructions have already started reaching eligible device owners by email. The final payout amount may be reduced if the number of claims is high.
