A recently discovered bug in WhatsApp's web app allows malicious users to bypass the "View Once" privacy feature, which is designed to make photos and videos disappear after being viewed.
Security researcher Tal Be’ery, who found the flaw, demonstrated how recipients could save "View Once" content on the web version of WhatsApp, despite the feature’s intent to prevent this.
While WhatsApp is rolling out updates to address the issue, Be’ery warns that this bug gives users a false sense of privacy, calling for a more thorough fix or the removal of the feature altogether.
