YouTube is working on new tools to help creators safeguard their content from generative AI copycats.

The platform announced plans to introduce a "synthetic-singing identification technology" that will detect and manage content mimicking creators' voices using AI. This tool will be integrated into YouTube's existing Content ID system and will be tested in a pilot program next year.

In addition, YouTube is developing a system to identify deepfakes of creators, actors, and musicians. The platform aims to protect creators' likenesses while ensuring that AI enhances creativity rather than replacing it.

YouTube also reiterated its commitment to blocking unauthorized scraping of content for AI training purposes, promising more protections and scraping detection systems.
