Meta tried to integrate its artificial intelligence technology into Apple's next operating system, but Apple rejected the proposal due to disagreements over privacy policies, according to Bloomberg.

The discussions between Apple and Meta were preliminary and occurred around the same time Apple was exploring partnerships with OpenAI and Google. Despite these talks, Apple decided not to move forward with Meta’s AI chatbot.

At WWDC 2024, Apple announced a collaboration with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into Siri and Apple Intelligence for iOS 18. When Apple's AI cannot answer a question, users can opt to have ChatGPT respond instead. Apple plans to add more AI platforms in the future, allowing users to choose their preferred service.

Apple Intelligence, featuring these new AI integrations, will be available later this year with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia updates. Initially, it will be available in US English for the iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad and Mac models with the M1 chip or later, with broader language and regional support to follow.
