X introduces global support for passkey login on iOS

Originally appearing earlier this year, passkey login was only available to iOS users in the US. Now, users globally can take advantage of this secure authentication method.

The announcement was made by X via its official Safety account, confirming the global availability of passkey login on iOS devices. By utilizing passkeys, users can enhance the security of their accounts, as passkeys are individually generated by their devices, making them less susceptible to phishing attacks and unauthorized access.

Passkey technology enables users to log in using methods such as facial recognition or biometrics, eliminating the need for manual passcode entry.

To enable passkey login on X accounts, users can follow these steps:

• Open the X app on your iOS device.
• Tap on your profile picture in the top left corner.
• Navigate to Settings and Support, then tap on Settings and Privacy.
• Select Security and Account Access.
• Choose the Security option.
• Enable the Passkey toggle and confirm with the current password.

X users are encouraged to update their app to the latest version available on the App Store to access the passkey login feature.
