Reports suggest that the upgraded console, codenamed Trinity, could revolutionize gaming with its enhanced graphical capabilities and advanced features.

According to leaks, the PS5 Pro is poised to deliver a rendering performance improvement of up to 45% over the current PS5. The PS5 Pro is expected to offer substantial enhancements in ray tracing performance, potentially tripling the capabilities of its predecessor and even quadrupling them in certain scenarios.

Additionally, the console may introduce PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), utilizing machine learning for image upscaling similar to Nvidia's DLSS or AMD's FSR. This technology could pave the way for upscaling to 8K resolutions and further enhance ray tracing performance on the rumored PS5 Pro hardware.

Leaked documents, reportedly sourced from Sony's developer portal, indicate that first-party studios have been testing PS5 Pro devkits since September, with third-party developers gaining access in January. This timeline aligns with previous reports suggesting a targeted release window of November 2024 for the PS5 Pro.
